Professional Objectives
“As a professional in the mental health field, I believe acting as an advocate (for ourselves and our clients) can be one of the most important roles we play. I am dedicated to promoting and destigmatizing mental health in our world today. I am privileged enough to participate and do so within my local community, but I feel lobbying for what matters on the state and federal levels is just as crucial. Additionally, I always practice under The American Counseling Association’s code of ethics in order to uphold confidentially, patient’s rights, and my duties as a mandated reporter. My ultimate professional goal is to promote the mental and emotional well-being of my clients, and to decrease the stigma others around them may hold.”

Theoretical Orientation
“So far throughout my career, I have found that I typically guide my sessions with a cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, person centered approach. I am a firm believer in the concept that our emotions are created by the thoughts we produce. Sometimes these thoughts are logical and rational, other times these thoughts are irrational. The goal is to develop the ability to recognize these thoughts, which will promote change that can lead to positive feelings and productive behaviors. By working together, we work towards an optimistic future.”
