Professional Objectives
“To provide my clients with comprehensive and integrated care. I plan to achieve this objective by not only treating my clients with psychotropic medications but also connecting them with the resources available to promote their mental and physical health.”

Theoretical Orientation
“I relate to Carl Rogers’ Person Centered Theory. Clients are likely to express themselves freely and accept who they are when therapists consistently value and care about them no matter the circumstances. I also incorporate William Miller’s Motivational Interviewing approach as an intervention to explore and resolve client’s ambivalence toward lifestyle changes. Using a non-directive approach helps to foster motivation and avoid resistance towards change. Direct confrontations will likely lead to resistance towards change. Instead of confronting clients and explicitly telling them what they should do, I prefer to guide my clients in discussions that explore their personal arguments for and against change. Evidence shows that speaking to clients about their real self vs. their ideal-self can provide motivation to successfully trigger behavior change.”
