PsyCare Clinical Social Worker Desiree Farragher, MSW, LISW-S coordinated this year’s Kindergarten Transition Fair at Eastwood Mall in Niles.
The project was planned by the Trumbull County Kindergarten Transition Committee.
PsyCare CEO Lori Kelly, MS, LPCC-S is also part of the Committee, along with professionals from various organizations in Trumbull County.
This year’s event was again a success! A total of 269 future kindergartners participated (with their families). Children were able to learn skills to prepare them for kindergarten at 11 interactive stations, plus parents were given resources to help them interact with and assist their child in learning. Awesome!
18 school districts were present, giving parents and children the ability to meet and talk with their future elementary principals and kindergarten teachers.
While current students are on spring break and looking forward to summer, the children and families at the Kindergarten Transition Fair are looking forward to the start of school in August!
