    Psychiatric Case Manager

Cathy is one of our Psychiatric Case Managers (PCM). She has her Bachelor’s in Social Work, and the QMHS stands for Qualified Mental Health Specialist. Cathy has been working with PsyCare at the Campbell district since the 2020/2021 school. Cathy is Puerto Rican and Dominican, bilingual and also works with the Spanish speaking population. She also works with children diagnosed with ADHD, autism, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders. Cathy’s main role is to educate caregivers, teachers, and children on how to better manage and reduce symptoms. She also works in the home with our students and works very closely with families to encourage the utilization of interventions and techniques that we teach them in school. Additionally, she works with children and families on activities of daily living (e.g., hygiene, taking care of oneself, other responsibilities), organization (e.g., homework, studying, chores/responsibilities), and community resources (e.g., obtaining social security, food stamps, clothing, school supplies, food pantries, and applying for other assistance programs). Outside of PsyCare Cathy also works providing therapeutic care for children in the foster care system and manages a home health agency for the elderly. In her free time she enjoys practicing self-care activities such as adventure time exploring local events and parks, arts and crafts, and relaxing.
