Mr. Elliott has obtained back-to-back degrees from Youngstown State University, including BSW, MSW. Mr. Elliott went above the required components from accreditation requirements within his scope and explored other fields of practice while meeting all standards within his scope of practice. He has studied general psychology, child psychology, abnormal psychology, psychology of the aging population, and post-graduate psychopathology. Mr. Elliott interned extensively in his field of study during employment and additionally with the homeless population.
Professional History
Mr. Elliott accepted his first career position within Trumbull County Children Services as a state-trained WRAP facilitator. He facilitated progress of children through collaboration of service professionals, case-managers, clinicians and doctors to maximize positive progress of case-plans for children and adolescents. Mr. Elliott was charged with ensuring all needs were met, and vital services were in place, as well as monitoring progress of each case through WRAP. Mr. Elliott moved into AoD/SuD treatments, accepting a lead role as a primary-detoxification therapist in a rapid detox setting. Mr. Elliott began collaborations with area trauma movements and experts acting as a bridge to address the general trauma of repeat clients, while treating emotional conditions, and motivating clients to activate choices that foster longer-term recovery. He accepted a larger role in a parent company to assist with accreditation procedures to begin accepting dual diagnostics to treat mental health and addiction concurrently. Mr. Elliott acted as a lead rule in becoming accredited and remained in practice treating clients until he took a position working hand-in-hand with Medicaid, for those with severe and persistent mental illness, linking them to ethical practitioners and resources. He worked with children and adolescents in a district-funded behavioral school setting, treating cognitive, emotional, and severe trauma related disorders. Mr. Elliott is now working to build his practice within the excellence of PsyCare to maximize his skill set and treat those with an array of disorders.
