Specialties
Professional Objectives
“To connect with others in understanding and supporting their unique gifts and life stories. To improve the life experiences of clients by supporting self awareness about personal strengths and challenges; to teach effective, proven coping strategies to improve daily life and relationships with others.”
Theoretical Orientation
“My approach combines several types of therapy depending on the problems being addressed. I use solution focused brief therapy for clients experiencing day to day life adjustments – the things that get us “stuck” and prevent us from functioning well in our work and relationships. In all of my work I also provide active listening and emotional support. When necessary, I provide other therapies to allow patients to identify and “work through” past problems, including trauma, that may be affecting their current lives. In family therapy we work on the people connected to the individual; blended families, parents, children, partners, and others who have meaning in their lives. Finally, I provide information to help patients understand their diagnosis and the best, most current ways to cope with their symptoms.”
