Professional History

Thomas Zimmerman began his career in a community mental health internship site where he gained experience in diagnostic assessment and evaluation, individual counseling, crisis intervention, and the treatment of clients with profound emotional and thought disorders. After licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor, he began working at PsyCare as an outpatient therapist in September 2014.

Theoretical Orientation

Most of Mr. Zimmerman’s work with clients utilizes Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for anxiety and depression issues, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for personality issues, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma treatment.
